Harry Kane and Putellas' low profile prevail in London against Mbappé and Lamine Yamal, the two candidates who were most prominent in the press, at a gala where Spain took eight of the thirteen awards
The Ballon d'Or gala was held in London for the first time, with Harry Kane being awarded and keeping a low profile. Alexia Putellas, currently with London City Lionesses, was also a winner. The Spanish delegation had a successful night, taking home eight of the thirteen awards given out. Lamine Yamal, who had expressed strong desire to win, was not among the recipients.
