Allen Iverson Makes Bold Promise for LeBron James-Led 76ers
Allen Iverson made a bold championship promise for the Philadelphia 76ers as they enter their new-look era.
The Philadelphia 76ers have started their 2026-27 regular-season campaign on a high note, winning all three of their initial games. This season, the team made significant moves, securing NBA legend LeBron James through free agency and acquiring Jaylen Brown via a trade with the Boston Celtics. These additions seem to be paying dividends early in the season.
Allen Iverson, a Philadelphia native and basketball icon, expressed his confidence in the team's prospects during a recent interview. Iverson stated with conviction, "I know for a fact it's going to happen," emphasizing his belief that James will guide the 76ers to a championship title. He expressed confidence in the roster and the coaching staff, predicting a parade to celebrate their success.
Iverson cited LeBron James' vast experience and proven track record, remarking, "He's been there, done that. He has the recipe to do it. He ain't never had nothing like this." The 76ers suffered their first loss of the season against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. They will now focus on their next challenge, a game against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. LeBron James, playing in his 24th NBA season, is currently averaging 16.3 points, seven rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.
