Why has actor Naseeruddin Shah come out in support of SRFTI student protests
Naseeruddin Shah urged all right-minded citizens to support the demands of the students of SRFTI
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah expressed support for the student protests at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata. In a video statement, Shah criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the party was taking "revenge" on anyone who does not conform to its beliefs and policies. He alleged that the BJP had targeted the students by issuing show cause notices, subjecting them to surveillance, threats, and asking them to vacate hostels.
Shah urged all right-minded citizens to support the students' demands for accountability from the administration, stating that the BJP's actions would not succeed in brainwashing or scaring future filmmakers in the country.
