Trump hits back at Obama over Saddam ‘Cheesecake Factory’ jab
The former president's jabs at Donald Trump's prized White House renovations, including gold-leafed Oval Office ornamentation, appeared to sting.
During his campaign efforts for Democratic candidates in Ohio and Michigan, former President Barack Obama criticized Donald Trump's administration as chaotic and cruel. In response, Trump fired back on Monday, accusing Obama of comparing his successor's White House to a Cheesecake Factory, suggesting Obama was unqualified to hold office.
Trump explained that Obama's lack of attention to the White House's condition, noting the broken masonry and neglected cleanliness, demonstrated his incompetence. The White House renovation comments, including the addition of a large ballroom and gold-leafed décor, particularly angered Trump. The two presidents have a history of animosity, with Trump's 2011 birther conspiracy theory against Obama being a prime example.
Trump's latest rant, a 1,300-word post on his Truth Social network, revealed his growing frustration as the midterm elections approached.
