Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Supports PenCom

Ebere Nwoji, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, has expressed support for the National Pension Commission (PenCom) as it prepares to host the inaugural National Pension Week. The week-long event, running from Monday, 26 to Friday, 30 October 2026, carries the theme "Building a Secure Future Together". Its purpose is to enhance public understanding of pensions, promote financial inclusion, encourage retirement planning, and bolster confidence in Nigeria's pension system.

PenCom, the event's organizer, explained that the five-day initiative will involve various segments of society. These include youth engagement activities, a SME engagement and fair, a retiree fair, a National Pension Summit, and a media briefing. These events are designed to foster conversations around pension inclusion, retirement security, and the future of Nigeria's pension industry.

Olumide Oyetan, Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, commended PenCom for launching National Pension Week. He emphasized the importance of pension planning, stating that when people plan confidently for the future, they are better equipped to seize opportunities, navigate life's transitions, and achieve meaningful growth. Oyetan affirmed that building this future starts with comprehending the significance of pensions, initiating planning early, and taking proactive steps.
