Spain star Alexia Putellas has been awarded her third women's Ballon d'Or award, following her leading of Barcelona to multiple trophies last season, including the Women's Champions League. Putellas, who recently joined the London City Lionesses, also helped Spain secure victory in the Women's Nations League last December. This marks the end of Aitana Bonmati's three-year reign, as Putellas secured the prestigious award in consecutive seasons in 2021 and 2022 before tearing her ACL.
Bonmati, who was not on this year's shortlist due to a broken leg in December, completed her own three-peat in 2025.
