Sai Pallavi takes on red sandalwood syndicate in Dhanush’s OM, watch promo

The makers of OM: Chapter 1 - Udhiram: The Blood Wood have unveiled a glimpse of Sai Pallavi's character, Nithya Reddy. Nithya is a Central Bureau of Investigation officer investigating the smuggling of red sandalwood. Born in Naidupet, a town in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district, Nithya is the daughter of an Indian Forest Service officer who died while protecting forests.

Her career progressed from Assistant Superintendent of Police to Additional Superintendent of Police in the CBI, working with Interpol. Nithya leads the investigation into red sandalwood smuggling, an operation named OM. OM: Chapter 1 - Udhiram: The Blood Wood is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, with a screenplay by Rajkumar Periasamy.

Dhanush plays the lead as a woodcutter involved in the red sandalwood trade, alongside Mammootty and a supporting cast that includes Sreeleela, Sanjay Swaroop, and Naseeruddin Shah, who makes his Tamil debut. The film's music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, and it is produced by Dhanush, Shraddha Agrawal, and Azmat Jagmag. RTake Studios also backs the production.

The 1 in the title suggests this is the first installment of a franchise. OM is set for release on November 20 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
