Madrid play for La Liga, not Camp Nou wins — Mourinho

José Mourinho, the Real Madrid manager, emphasized that his team's focus remains on winning the La Liga title rather than the individual match at Camp Nou. After Kylian Mbappé's late goal secured a 2-1 Clásico victory for Real Madrid, Mourinho stressed the importance of maintaining the right mentality. He stated, "Real Madrid play to win La Liga.

This must be the mentality. We need to continue like this and don’t go over the moon after this win." Mourinho acknowledged that the team's success was a result of their hard work and readiness to win, crediting the players for their efforts. He also highlighted the importance of learning from both victories and defeats, emphasizing that coaches are often replaced when teams lose.

With six wins and six losses in El Clásico, Mourinho reflected on his time returning to Real Madrid, praising the quality and mindset of his squad. He acknowledged the team's performance, noting their ability to secure victories by a wide margin against several opponents. However, Mourinho cautioned that a loss in the next match could diminish the significance of their recent triumph, closing the gap to three points at the top of La Liga.
