Google AI Pro upgrades are turning into a costly headache for some students
Students paid to upgrade their Google AI plans. Then everything disappeared.
Students are facing an unexpected and frustrating issue after upgrading their free Google AI Plus student plans to discounted AI Pro subscriptions. According to reports, Google is unexpectedly canceling these upgrades and issuing refunds, leaving students without both subscriptions and potentially without a way to recover their original free benefits.
This has caused confusion and frustration within the student community, as many had expected to gain more features rather than lose everything they already had. Complaints have been made on Reddit and Google's support forums, with multiple users describing a similar experience. Initially, students signed up for a free 12-month Google AI Plus student offer and later accepted a discounted AI Pro upgrade.
However, instead of upgrading to the better plan, their accounts reverted back to the free tier, leaving them without the benefits they had paid for.
