New York Giants quarterback JJ McCarthy made his debut start on Sunday, leading his team to a 27-21 win against the Houston Texans. Despite a solid performance, McCarthy remained focused on the bigger picture. When asked about his own individual stats, he bluntly stated, "Truly the only stat I care about is going 1-0." McCarthy emphasized that he doesn't dwell on how the victory was achieved, simply stating, "I could care less how we get it done."
He reiterated that the ultimate goal is to secure a win and execute well. McCarthy was acquired by the Giants in a trade from the Minnesota Vikings following Jaxson Dart's season-ending injury. Following his first start, the Giants, now on their Week 8 bye, will look to capitalize on their momentum in an upcoming Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
