The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and Russia’s international information agency, Rossiya Segodnya, have signed a media cooperation agreement in Moscow. The agreement was inked during the Russia Africa Media Forum and aims to boost collaboration through the exchange of news content, professional joint ventures, and joint training programs.
The agreement allows GBC access to Rossiya Segodnya’s English-language news materials and enables Rossiya Segodnya to access GBC’s English-language news materials. This arrangement is expected to facilitate the flow of information on developments in both countries. Director of International Cooperation at Rossiya Segodnya, Mr. Vasily Pushkov, welcomed the opportunity to strengthen professional ties and expand the flow of news content.
Meanwhile, GBC’s Director General, Prof. Amin Alhassan, said the agreement will ensure balanced coverage of Russia-related stories on GBC's networks. The agreement also provides for assistance to journalists working in each other’s countries and the organization of joint media events. They plan to focus on cultural, humanitarian, economic, sporting, and political issues for collaboration.
The primary goal of the agreement is to strengthen professional ties and mutual understanding between the people of Ghana and Russia.
