Four Arrested For Manufacturing Fake Currency Notes Worth Rs 5.64 Lakh In Pune

Four men have been arrested in Pune for allegedly manufacturing and circulating counterfeit Indian currency notes worth Rs5.64 lakh. The Vishrambaug police seized 1,128 fake Rs500 notes during the raid, along with a colour printer and other equipment used to produce the counterfeit currency. The case came to light when Police Constables Sachin Ahivale and Shailesh Surve received information about a suspect arriving near Mahatma Phule Mandai with counterfeit currency notes.

A police trap was subsequently set up near Mhasoba Temple, leading to the arrest of Salman Jainuddin Raje, a 30-year-old resident of Ambegaon, Daund taluka. Raje was allegedly the leader of a group of counterfeit note manufacturers. During interrogation, Raje revealed the involvement of three accomplices: Shafaj Firoz Ansari, Vishal Vilas Galande, and Abhijit Raosaheb Kamble, all of whom were subsequently arrested.

The police recovered 323 additional counterfeit Rs500 notes from Ansari's residence. The total value of the counterfeit notes seized in the operation amounts to Rs5.64 lakh. The investigation was carried out under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and other senior officers.
