El Clásico: 'He stopped very good, clever Yamal' - Mourinho singles out Real Madrid star

Real Madrid secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the second Clasico of Jose Mourinho's return to the fixture, marking a significant step in the reigning champions' quest to challenge Barcelona's recent dominance. Although Barcelona dominated possession, shots on goal and passes, Real Madrid's organized and focused performance, particularly from right-back Fede Valverde, showcased their ability to counter Barcelona's relentless pressing.

Mourinho lauded Valverde's presence of mind and praised his performance despite initial reservations about his switch to defense. The captain's standout role highlighted Mourinho's growing ability to win over the Real Madrid dressing room and find tactical solutions. The win, which leaves Real Madrid three points behind Barcelona, provides the team with a much-needed morale boost and unity, signaling a potential shift in their trajectory towards reclaiming the summit of Spanish football.
