Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley gives heartfelt reaction to first NFL win after beating Jets

Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley celebrated a significant milestone as his team defeated the New York Jets, ending a five-game losing streak and marking Miami's first victory of the NFL season. The 28-25 win took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Hafley's home state, after a game in which the Dolphins finally broke their winless start.

Hafley expressed his appreciation for his players' commitment, despite the early struggles, stating that "all the hard work, all the things we’ve been asking them to do since OTAs" would be remembered as they built their season. The celebrations in Miami's locker room were intense, with players showering coach Hafley with water following the victory.

Quarterback Malik Willis was instrumental in the win, throwing for 208 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushing for another score. Rookie receiver Caleb Douglas contributed significantly by catching both of the touchdown passes, including a crucial 63-yard strike in the fourth quarter. Hafley stressed that while the victory was important, the process remained his primary focus.

Miami now shifts its attention to the upcoming divisional matchup against the New England Patriots on the following Sunday.
