California Bank & Trust names Michael MacDonald as president

California Bank & Trust, a Zions Bancorporation division, has appointed Michael MacDonald as president, according to a press release. MacDonald, who will report to CEO Eric Ellingsen, will oversee the bank's Commercial, Corporate, and Specialty Industry divisions. He will also continue leading Zions Capital Markets and sit on Zions Bancorporation's Executive Management Committee.

The appointment aims to bolster the bank's market presence across California. MacDonald's leadership is seen as a strategic move, given his expertise in Power & Project Finance and his vision for the bank's growth. MacDonald emphasized that California Bank & Trust retains local decision-making and client relationships, positioning the bank to combine community bank agility with large regional capabilities to serve clients in complex environments.
