Around the NFL: Vikings are last unbeaten team, McCarthy wins first NYG start
The Minnesota Vikings sit alone atop the NFL standings at 6-0.
As the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL, the 6-0 Vikings maintain their No. 1 seed in the NFC with an unassailable league-leading record. The recent 20-3 victory by the defending champions, the Seahawks, confirmed the Vikings' dominance, as their defense is now reminiscent of the unit that propelled Seattle to a Super Bowl triumph in February.
Meanwhile, in Atlanta, the 49ers started the game with a 14-3 lead but ultimately fell short in a 29-20 defeat against the Falcons, thus granting the Vikings a one-game lead in the conference.
