Anthropic Is Said to Plan Public Filing for Mega-IPO Monday

Anthropic PBC is on track to file for an initial public offering (IPO) on Monday at approximately 9 a.m. in New York, according to sources familiar with the company's plans. The artificial intelligence model maker is aiming for a potentially record-breaking debut.

The firm responsible for creating Claude has been preparing to formally market its IPO as early as the week of November 9, as reported by Bloomberg News. Anthropic anticipates that its IPO will match or surpass the size of SpaceX's IPO, based on insights from individuals privy to the situation.

Earlier reports from Fox Business had also hinted at Anthropic's intended filing timing. A representative for Anthropic has not yet provided a response to inquiries regarding the matter. The planned IPO stands out among few prospective deals that are progressing smoothly, defying a series of delays and postponements observed in the global market for new listings.

In contrast, other companies have faced setbacks in their IPO plans. Data center operator AirTrunk recently delayed the IPO of a real estate investment trust in Singapore until the following year, following the collapse of a planned IPO for Australian data center company Firmus. Anthropic and its rival OpenAI have been under increasing public scrutiny over AI safety concerns following a series of high-profile hacking incidents carried out by rogue agents, intensifying worries about the potential impact on Anthropic's market debut.
