AFC Champions League Elite: Saudi clubs begin third round today

The Asian Champions League match between Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo's club, and Al Wasl has been postponed. Originally planned for Monday at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, the game's new date and time have yet to be announced. The Asian Football Confederation confirmed that the rescheduled date and kickoff time will be communicated soon.

While the exact reason for the postponement remains unclear, travel issues stemming from regional disturbances are considered a possible factor. Despite this disruption, other ACL matches, such as Al Qadsiah vs. Al Sadd and Al Ain vs. Tractor FC, are scheduled to proceed as planned. Saudi Arabia, however, has experienced significant impact due to conflict with Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

This conflict led to the postponement of a Saudi Pro League game between Al Nassr and Al Ahli, as well as the cancellation of the Six Kings tennis tournament in the country, which featured notable players like Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev. Additionally, the Riyadh Fashion Week and Future Investment Initiative conference have also been postponed. Further updates are anticipated.
