Trump on Iran: Strike possible today, but ‘big, beautiful’ deal remains an option
US President Donald Trump suggested on Saturday that a military strike against Iran could take place as early as Sunday, while still considering the possibility of a diplomatic solution. Trump was asked directly about an attack on Iran, responding cryptically, "Do you really think I'd tell you that? Maybe tomorrow. There's a possibility I will."
He also mentioned the prospect of a "nice, big, beautiful agreement" with Iran. When inquired about the progress of an attack on Iran, Trump replied, "Do you really think I'd tell you that?" before stating, "There's also a possibility we'll have a nice, big, beautiful agreement." The Iranian leadership expressed interest in a deal, but Trump cautioned that their commitment to honoring it would be a significant challenge.
Trump had previously indicated on social media that he would not launch an attack on Iran before the US midterm elections on November 3rd.
