Sultan Selangor kecewa salah urus TH, muak politik keterlaluan

Selangor Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed disappointment over the mismanagement of the Hajj Fund Institution (TH) and distaste for excessive political activities that yield no results. The palace emphasized that TH was established to assist the Muslim community in Malaysia in saving for the pilgrimage to Mecca, and any deviation or accusation of misuse was unacceptable.

The Sultan stressed that financial management for religious purposes should be based on accountability and responsibility, and that similar principles applied to all places of worship and orphanages.

The Sultan urged Selangor politicians to focus on serving the people, driving economic growth, and maintaining unity to ensure the state remains among the best in the country. He expressed disgust for over-political activities that yield no results, similar to the general public's fatigue. The Sultan warned against politicizing issues related to race and religion or inciting divisions within the royal institution.

He acknowledged that political power in Selangor has always been based on the people, who have lived together peacefully for centuries, despite their diverse ethnicities, religions, and cultures.

The Sultan cautioned politicians against making sensitive statements that could offend others and impede communal harmony. He advised them to think before speaking and always exercise caution. The Sultan reminded Selangor, like Malaysia, to be built on the principles of forward thinking, mutual respect, and willingness to value differences in order to achieve shared goals.

With social media allowing messages to spread to millions in mere minutes, he warned that irresponsible statements can have serious consequences, such as igniting emotions, increasing mistrust, and creating unnecessary tension within society. Thus, public figures must act responsibly, calmly, and with full accountability. Leadership should be measured not just by what is said, but also by the impact of those words on society.
