Obama attacks Trump as he campaigns for Democrats ahead of midterm elections
Obama said the election was "the last best chance to at least rein in some of the foolishness of this administration".
Former President Barack Obama rallied a large crowd in Detroit on Saturday to support Democrat Abdul El-Sayed's campaign for the US Senate and the Democratic ticket on the first day of early voting in Michigan. Obama praised El-Sayed for fighting to "finish the job we started with the Affordable Care Act" and promised quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans.
He criticized the current administration for enriching itself and its family, and accused former President Donald Trump of selling favors. Obama claimed that Trump has set a "culture at the top" of taking favors. The rally took place on the first day of Michigan's early voting period, with the general election scheduled for November 3rd.
It was also Obama's first in-person campaigning during the midterms, which began earlier in the weekend in Cleveland, Ohio.
