On October 25, the 'Kenduri Rakyat' event hosted by Muar MP Syed Saddiq and singer-actress Bella Astillah, affectionately known as BASS, attracted thousands of attendees from various parts of Malaysia. The Yong Sheng Banquet Hall in Muar saw people lining up from early morning, with lines extending to the back of the hall by the time BASS arrived.
Despite the large crowds, BASS managed to give a brief speech, expressing gratitude for the support and apologizing for any shortcomings. Syed Saddiq, dressed in traditional Malay wedding attire with gold linings, thanked the attendees and assured them that they would make an effort to meet as many people as possible. The couple's children, Ayden and Ara, were initially advised not to join them due to safety concerns.
Local social media users have shared videos and comments on the event, praising the couple's efforts and the generous sponsorship of RM500,000 towards the event. BASS had previously tied the knot on October 10 and held another reception in Kuala Lumpur on October 18. Another Kenduri Rakyat is planned for October 31 in Bella's home state of Sabah.
