Lane Kiffin breakdown LSU QB Sam Leavitt's elite outing vs Auburn

Sam Leavitt had a stellar performance for LSU in their 38-17 victory over Auburn on Saturday. Despite a near interception in the second quarter, the LSU quarterback orchestrated a strong offensive drive that culminated in three touchdowns. Head coach Lane Kiffin acknowledged the poor decision that led to the near interception, stating, "I just told him, hey, you got lucky on that. We can't have another one of those."

Leavitt capitalized on a missed interception by securing a first down, then completed a 15-yard strike to Trey Dez Green on the next play. On the following drive, he found Jackson Harris for a 70-yard touchdown, and finished the half by scoring at the end of a Leavitt-led 15-yard run. Throughout the game, Leavitt connected on 71% of his pass attempts and added 54 rushing yards on eight carries.

He demonstrated a dominant performance, showcasing his ability to execute plays effectively and keep the ball away from opponents. Kiffin praised Leavitt's performance, noting that the quarterback played at a high level despite the challenging circumstance, emphasizing the importance of taking care of the ball to secure wins.
