Kakitangan Mardi maut disengat lebah ketika ambil madu

On Tuesday morning, a worker from Malaysia's Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi) died after being stung by bees while collecting honey from a plantation in Ayer Putih, near Kemaman. Police Chief Mohd Razi Rosli reported that the incident occurred at 9:50 am when the victim, Hafizul Mat, 40, was working alongside his colleague.

Despite being warned by his colleague not to collect the honey due to the beehive being on a dry tree about three meters high, the victim insisted on continuing his task. He asked his relative to wait about 50 meters away from the beehive as he climbed the tree before being attacked by a swarm of bees. When the victim was up in the tree, he shouted for his relative to run as the bees surrounded him, before descending and entering a nearby pond to escape the bees.

After being pulled out of the pond, the victim suffered severe pain in his legs and arms due to the bee stings and fell into a state of unconsciousness. His colleagues then sought help from two other workers before calling an ambulance, which transported the victim to Kemaman Hospital for further treatment at 6:42 pm. Hospital officials confirmed that the victim had passed away while receiving medical attention.
