Early reports of durability issues have surfaced for Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. Owners on Reddit and the MacRumors forums have shared images of damaged inner displays, with the problem appearing to concentrate around the hinge. One Australian user noted the display cracked after approximately six hours of ownership and just 20 openings.
Apple has offered to replace damaged units, but the cause of the screen cracks remains unconfirmed. Some speculate a component inside the hinge may be exerting pressure on the display, but this theory has not been verified. Multiple photographs and videos on social media show similar damage near the hinge, though it is unclear how widespread the issue is. Apple has not publicly confirmed the cause of the reported failures.
