FT008 detour near Gua Musang now open to light traffic after sinkhole

A temporary detour on FT008 Section 205.556 near the Kesedar Ethnobotanical Recreation Park on the Gua Musang-Kota Bharu road has reopened to light traffic, according to the Gua Musang Public Works Department (JKR). The Bailey bridge-based detour, part of the Central Spine Road Project Packages 3B and 3C, was initially closed on Oct 10 after a sinkhole measuring about eight metres deep formed on the road.

Light vehicles can now use the detour, subject to following temporary traffic signs, reducing speed, and exercising caution, as emphasized by the JKR. Heavy vehicles are advised to utilize alternate routes. Travelers are urged to plan their journeys in advance while the road remains closed to heavy vehicles.
