Manchester United's season took a turn for the worse as they suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth, pushing them to 16th place in the Premier League with just one point above the relegation zone. The pressure mounted on manager Michael Carrick, who opted to bench captain Bruno Fernandes, who had earlier criticized the team's tactics in their recent Champions League loss.
Bournemouth's goals came from Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson, with Fernandes remaining on the bench as United struggled to regain control. The defeat left Carrick's side without a win in the league since August, and with no wins in the Premier League this season, the troubles at Old Trafford continued to mount.
