EPL: Carrick reveals regular Ferguson, Solskjaer talks

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has disclosed that he maintains a regular dialogue with former managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer while striving to rescue the team's struggling performance. Carrick is facing mounting pressure due to United's seven consecutive games without a win preceding their Premier League home match against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The tension has escalated following criticisms from senior players Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes regarding the club's recruitment decisions and Carrick's tactical approach. With United grappling with inconsistency, Carrick must work on restoring confidence within his squad and enhancing their performances to allay concerns about his future.

Despite the mounting pressure, Carrick dismissed claims that Manchester United has become an unmanageable club, firmly stating "No" when asked about the theory. The ex-midfielder also defended his team's pressing strategy, arguing that it is a small aspect of football and not the sole determinant of match outcomes. Carrick admitted that United's 4-1 Champions League loss to Como on Wednesday was poor, but insisted that his squad must revert to the standards they achieved last season and at times during the ongoing campaign.

Carrick confirmed that he has been in frequent touch with both Ferguson and Solskjaer recently, expressing that his relationship with the former managers is close. Carrick assured that his players can perform better against Bournemouth and expressed his faith in them, stating that they will be a different team on Sunday.
