EPL: Bournemouth thrash Man United 3-0, pressure mounts on Carrick

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday, a result that has increased pressure on manager Michael Carrick. Goals for the visitors were scored by Rayan, Marcus Tavernier, and Evanilson, with Evanilson capitalizing on an error by Senne Lammens in the second half. Daily Post Nigeria reported that Bournemouth held a two-goal lead at half-time.

The loss extends Manchester United's winless run to eight games across all competitions. According to Free Malaysia Today, the defeat leaves the club in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone. Following the match, Bournemouth fans taunted Carrick with chants regarding his dismissal.

The selection process for the match drew attention as captain Bruno Fernandes was left on the bench for the duration of the game. Free Malaysia Today noted that Carrick's decision to drop Fernandes backfired, while Hindustan Times - World News reported that the move followed Fernandes' public criticism of the team's tactics during a 4-1 loss to Como earlier in the week. Harry Maguire was named captain in Fernandes' absence.
