You are unfit to rule Nigeria – Wike mocks Peter Obi

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in a mocking manner. During a town hall meeting in Rivers, Wike labeled Obi as the "president of social media" and deemed him unfit to lead Nigeria. Wike argued that Obi's online presence is devoid of any significant achievements or tangible evidence of his ability to govern.

He further stated that Obi's reliance on social media popularity is insufficient, as governance demands experience, capacity, and a proven track record. Wike claimed that those promoting Obi on platforms like X, Facebook, and Instagram will not be present to assist him once he assumes office. Obi has yet to respond to Wike's mocking remarks at the time of reporting.
