Tyshawn Ford continued his stellar performance as he once again led Nease football to victory over Ponte Vedra in a thrilling match. Ford's remarkable performance, including an impressive 288 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns, carried him through the intense Battle of the Bridge clash. This victory marked Nease's fourth consecutive win in the St. Johns County high school football rivalry and secured the Battle of the Bridge trophy for the fourth year in a row.
Ford's exceptional play was instrumental in helping Nease stay ahead in the rivalry. His contributions were crucial in overcoming Ponte Vedra's initial 21-0 deficit, as he orchestrated a strong comeback. Chase Bogle and Kash Kolbow also played key roles by securing several stands against Ponte Vedra, which proved crucial in maintaining Nease's lead.
Ponte Vedra, despite their efforts, could only muster a final score of 35, falling short against Nease's dominant performance. Quarterback Carter Sole managed to throw for over 400 yards for Ponte Vedra, but it was not enough to secure a win in this highly anticipated match. This victory adds momentum to Nease's season, potentially positioning them favorably for the Florida High School Athletic Association playoffs.
