Tinubu Flags off Reelection Campaign in Kaduna, Promises Prosperity, Devt

President Bola Tinubu rallied Nigerians on Saturday to support his re-election bid in 2027, vowing sustained economic recovery, prosperity, and development. At the flag-off event in Kaduna for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, Tinubu expressed gratitude for the 2023 election results, stating that a renewed mandate would enable his administration to continue ongoing reforms and projects.

The President took responsibility for the hunger and poverty criticized by opposition parties, attributing these issues to previous administrations. Tinubu highlighted achievements under his government, including regular salary payments, economic recovery, efforts to combat corruption, and fuel smuggling. He urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate in the 2027 general election.

Minister of Works David Umahi provided updates on federal road projects in the North West region, reporting that over 348 kilometers of roads had been completed, while an additional 1,800 kilometers were partially completed. Umahi emphasized ongoing federal road projects covering 4,083 kilometers nationwide, with the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project being a notable example.

He announced that 81 kilometers of the 118-kilometer first section of the project would be commissioned during the ceremony, and over 144 kilometers of the 164-kilometer second section had been completed. The remaining 20 kilometers were expected to be finished by the end of November. Umahi commended Tinubu for funding the projects and Kaduna Governor Uba Sani for his contributions to their completion.

The event also featured the presentation of flags to seven APC governorship candidates in the North West region.
