Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has spoken out against Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal in response to the controversy surrounding singer Daler Mehndi. During a live performance at the Kunjapuri Mela in Tehri, Uniyal confronted Mehndi about alleged alcohol consumption. Mika Singh, Daler's brother, later defended his brother, stating that the singer had been ill for years and does not drink alcohol.
Neil expressed his deep hurt by the incident, emphasizing that Daler is a senior artist who deserves respect. He stressed that humanity should always come first, and if someone has an issue with an artist's performance, they should address it privately rather than during the show. Neil also criticized Uniyal's behavior, saying that humiliating a respected artist in front of the audience was heartbreaking and questioned where humanity was heading.
Mika Singh, in a recent press conference, revealed that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had apologized to him on behalf of Uniyal over the allegations against Daler Mehndi.
