The All Progressives Congress' Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of attempting to discredit the party's presidential campaign in Kaduna State. The council's spokesperson, Dele Alake, stated these allegations in a press release on Saturday. The council alleges that Atiku, along with members of the ADC, are planning to spread misinformation and manipulate public opinion through fake news, AI-generated content, deepfake videos, and forged documents.
The accusations include plans to discredit President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and other APC leaders. The statement alleges that Atiku and the ADC have been successful in their efforts to deceive the public via fake news operations, distorted stories in mainstream media, and the use of AI and deepfake videos. The council has requested Nigerians to be cautious and skeptical of any disinformation campaigns from the ADC and Atiku.
