Oppo’s New Pad Mini Takes on Apple’s iPad Mini With Flagship Features

Oppo has unveiled the Pad Mini, a compact Android tablet designed to challenge Apple's iPad mini. The device boasts an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 2.5K resolution, a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a matte finish to minimize reflections. The screen also supports impressive peak brightness levels of up to 1,600 nits. Despite its powerful hardware and large battery, the Pad Mini measures a slim 5.46mm in thickness, making it easy to use with one hand.

Under the hood, the tablet is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, based on the new 3nm manufacturing process. This powerful chipset, coupled with the display and battery, enables the Pad Mini to excel in gaming, entertainment, and productivity tasks. Running on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, the device supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The Pad Mini also features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for photography and video calls. With an expansive 8,000mAh battery capable of 67W wired fast charging, the tablet offers ample power for extended use. Priced around $1,000 and available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the Oppo Pad Mini is set to hit stores on October 29.
