Ministry of Awqaf: 1,073 Qataris register for Sheikh Jassim Competition's Qur'an Categories Division

Doha, Qatar- The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that 1,073 Qatari citizens- 454 men and 619 women- have enlisted for the Categories Division of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Noble Qur'an Competition. This division is segmented into five levels of Qur'an memorization: five, 10, 15, 20, and 25 parts. By progressing through these categories, participants can aspire to master the entire Qur'an and compete in the full-memorization category.

The ministry highlighted that the division has already aided in the preparation of Qur'an memorizers who have successfully completed the entire Qur'an and moved on to the full-memorization category. Additionally, certain participants have represented Qatar in regional and international Qur'an competitions.

The organizing committee positioned this division as an educational initiative aimed at fostering national Qur'an talent, strengthening participants' bond with the Qur'an, and reinforcing faith-based values and national identity. It also aligns with the ministry's endeavors to promote Qur'anic culture under its 2025-2030 strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030.

Testing for the competition commences on October 31. Male participants will undergo their examinations at Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab Mosque, whereas female participants will sit for their tests at the Women's Activity Center of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance in Al Waab. The comprehensive testing schedule is anticipated to be released later in the week.
