Menteri serah kedudukan Shuhaily kepada KSU, KSN

Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) has transferred the responsibility for Shuhaily Zain's position as the Director-General of Malaysia’s Border and Protection Agency (AKPS) to the Deputy Chief Secretary and National Deputy Chief Secretary. Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the matter is being handled internally by both parties according to existing public administration rules.

The issue is being managed between the deputy chief secretary in Saifuddin’s ministry and the deputy chief secretary at the national level. This is in line with public administration rules, according to Harian Metro. Saifuddin found himself at the National Registration Day (HPN) 78 celebration and the launch of the Madani Settlement (KAM) and Madani School (SAM) at the National Registration Department (JPN) 2026 in Kampung Melayu Sedenak, Kulai, Johor.

He addressed criticism from an opposition MP who accused Shuhaily of failing to remain neutral in an issue linking AKPS to the police. However, Saifuddin accepted the criticism with an open mind. The opposition MP also questioned the ability of the opposition leader to act as a peacemaker when their party is facing division, including conflicts between supporters of Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah Zainudin.

Earlier, opposition MPs questioned the failure of Saifuddin as a home minister to take a family-oriented approach in the issue of linking Shuhaily to two police officers, Faiz Saman and Ekmal Sofwan Dirman, who were injured at KLIA on September 28. The opposition MP hoped that actions against Shuhaily could be reversed before presenting the 2027 Budget in Parliament.

Previously, Shuhaily admitted not being guilty in the Majistret Court of Sepang for two charges of intentionally causing injury to police officers Faiz Saman and Ekmal Sofwan Dirman at KLIA on September 28.
