Former Vice President Kamala Harris is returning to the campaign trail to aid Democrats in the upcoming US midterm elections, as she contemplates a potential third run for the presidency in 2028. The Democratic Party, which suffered a setback in the 2024 election, is counting on Harris to rally voters in key battleground states, including Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
Harris recently launched her tour with a speech criticizing the Trump administration's "cruelty" and drawing parallels to the "corrupt, callous, and incompetent" leadership. Despite her lack of popularity among independent voters, Harris remains a strong advocate for young people, urging them to disregard others' doubts about their abilities.
However, Harris's potential 2028 candidacy would come with the burden of past defeats and scrutiny over President Joe Biden's health during the chaotic 2024 race. Harris has previously expressed concerns about Biden's support for Israel's actions in Gaza, further fueling speculation about her future political moves.
