Insta360 Mic Officially Launched With E-Ink Display, Expandable Storage

Insta360 has officially released its Mic wireless microphone, completing its line of wireless microphones. Positioned between the entry-level Mic Air and the top-tier Mic Pro, the Mic offers many features from the latter at a more affordable price. The transmitter, similar in design to previous models, weighs 19.4g and features a 1.22-inch 6-colour e-ink display for displaying logos or graphics.

It includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage, enabling features like internal recording and 32-bit float audio. The transmitter is equipped with a single microphone for omnidirectional pickup, paired with a dedicated AI audio chip featuring an NPU for noise cancellation. Like the Pro model, the Mic can wirelessly connect to compatible Insta360 cameras via Bluetooth to record 48kHz audio without a receiver.

Supported cameras include the X6, X5, Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, GO Ultra, and Ace Pro 2. For use with other devices like smartphones, DSLRs, and mirrorless cameras, a separate receiver is available. One receiver can connect to up to four transmitters, and users can mix both Mic and Mic Pro transmitters. Battery life is improved over the Pro model, with each transmitter lasting up to 13 hours and up to 34 hours with the charging case.

The Mic transmitter retails for US$140 (~RM572) with a receiver, while the brand has yet to disclose local availability and pricing.
