United Nations, October 24 (IANS) Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, the parliamentary leader leading India’s delegation to the UN, announced that India is strengthening its global nuclear science partnerships as part of its "Friend to the World" approach. India reiterated its commitment to South-South cooperation, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the benefits of nuclear science reach all nations that seek them, according to Singh Deo.

The country took a chairmanship role in the Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training (RCA) related to Nuclear Science and Technology, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Singh Deo highlighted India’s commitment to its "neighbourhood first" policy, noting the Tata Memorial Centre’s cancer care training program under the BIMSTEC Cooperation Framework. This program provided specialized training in cancer care to medical professionals from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Myanmar. India also showcased its advanced nuclear technology achievements, including the successful operation of a prototype fast breeder reactor and the production of hydrogen using heat-based technology in June.

Additionally, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited reported a record 55,190 million units of electricity generation with an 80% plant load factor, maintaining an impeccable safety record.
