Holder Rybakina sets up Fernandez clash in Ningbo final
Elena Rybakina, the defending Ningbo Open champion, defeated Russian sixth seed Diana Shnaider 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the final of the tournament. The world number one will face unseeded Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the final on Sunday, after Fernandez upset Czech Marie Bouzkova in the earlier semi-final with identical scores. She expressed appreciation for the win, acknowledging the challenges posed by playing against left-handers like Shnaider and Fernandez.
