Haryana Police, CBI working to expedite deportation of gangster Himanshu Bhau from U.S.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police, in collaboration with India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), is working diligently to expedite the deportation of notorious gangster Himanshu Bhau from the United States, according to recent reports. Bhau, a fugitive wanted in India for multiple murder and extortion cases, is currently in U.S. custody at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Las Vegas.

Haryana Police officials confirmed Bhau's detention, stating that he had been apprehended for misrepresentation of facts after fleeing the country using a forged surname on his passport. The STF is closely coordinating with the CBI, Interpol's nodal agency in India, to ensure a swift deportation process from the United States.

Born at the age of 17, Bhau allegedly attempted to murder a rival in his early criminal career. After escaping from a juvenile correctional facility in Hisar in 2020, he has been linked to a series of organized criminal activities and operates his gang from overseas. Bhau's gang has ties with rivals of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Recent events have brought Bhau's gang into the spotlight following the daylight murder of gym trainer and owner Vijay Kumar in South Delhi's Aya Nagar area on September 14. Bhau claimed responsibility for the killing on social media, citing the victim's involvement in a 2020 murder of an associate. The gang was also involved in a high-profile shootout at a Burger King outlet in Rajouri Garden in 2024, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old man.
