Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly in conversations to take over as manager of Manchester United. He has outlined specific conditions for the role during discussions with the club’s senior leadership. With the team’s recent poor form, Carrick’s future appears increasingly uncertain after a 4-1 Champions League loss to Como on Wednesday.
This result has seen the club record only two wins from 11 matches in all competitions so far this season. Carrick is set to lead the team in Sunday’s Premier League home match against Bournemouth, but a string of poor results could see him leave Old Trafford. According to La Repubblica, Conte would consider returning to the Premier League but made his demands clear during conversations with United officials.
Reports suggest the former Chelsea boss wants complete autonomy in the January transfer market to bolster the squad’s depth for the future.
