Dombivli traffic police conducted a three-hour enforcement drive on Thursday evening, targeting 28 vehicles for wrong-side driving on the Mankoli flyover, resulting in the collection of ₹32,000 in fines. Senior Police Inspector Vijay Ahire led the operation against motorists allegedly endangering other commuters by driving in the opposite direction.
The Mankoli flyover, a crucial link between Kalyan-Dombivli and Thane-Mumbai, has faced repeated complaints about reckless driving, speeding, and dangerous maneuvers, particularly at night. The police action aims to deter such violations and enhance road safety, with more enforcement drives planned in the future.
