Celtics' Jayson Tatum Fires Back at Jaylen Brown Trade Narrative
Jayson Tatum responded to former teammate Jaylen Brown calling out his reaction to the Celtics-76ers offseason trade.
On October 22, 2025, Jaylen Brown expressed his disbelief in Jayson Tatum's account of learning about his July trade to the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown took to his YouTube channel to comment on Tatum's interview, sharing that he found Tatum's recount "just as much caught off guard as the rest of the world" to be questionable. Brown's response was further emphasized by the cap emoji he posted, a common internet lingo indicating skepticism or disbelief.
The trade, which occurred on July 6, 2025, saw Brown sent to Philadelphia in exchange for Paul George and several draft picks. Brown and Tatum had played together for nine seasons in Boston, ultimately leading the team to the 2024 NBA Championship, with Brown being named Finals MVP.
