Brewers fans will love Christian Yelich’s locked in reaction to Game 1 win

Christian Yelich expressed his team's next steps following the Milwaukee Brewers' 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the World Series. Despite the win, Yelich emphasized the need to "lock back in tomorrow." The Brewers have not won a World Series in 44 years, and Yelich's role in the franchise's history underscores the importance of maintaining focus.

Yelich, who won National League MVP in his first season with the team in 2018, made an immediate impact in the series opener. After a leadoff single by Jackson Chourio, Yelich delivered a game-changing RBI triple off Nick Martinez's pitching. This early lead proved crucial, as Jacob Misiorowski limited the Rays to one run over five innings, with his first pitch that night reaching 103.5 mph, a World Series record.

While Tampa Bay had opportunities, including a bases-loaded situation in the fifth inning, they were unable to score. The Rays managed to tie the game in the ninth inning, but Trevor Megill's strategic play ultimately secured the win for Milwaukee. This victory marked Milwaukee's first World Series win since 1982 when they lost to St. Louis in seven games.

Neither the Brewers nor the Rays have ever won a championship, making Yelich's team's win all the more significant. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday night in Milwaukee, where the Brewers will face Rays' right-hander Drew Rasmussen in a critical matchup to secure a lead before the series moves to Tampa Bay.
