BN unveils 21 candidates for Melaka polls, Rauf to defend Tanjung Bidara

Barisan Nasional (BN) has introduced its 21 candidates for the upcoming Melaka election on November 14th. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh will be defending his seat in Tanjung Bidara. These candidates were announced at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) tonight. According to an electoral cooperation agreement, BN will contest 21 out of the 28 state seats, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) will field candidates in the remaining seven.

During the 2021 state election, BN secured 21 seats, gaining a two-thirds majority, whereas Perikatan Nasional (PN) won five seats and PN two seats. Nomination day is scheduled for October 31st, with voting taking place on November 14th.
