Atlanta rapper Shawty Dred indicted in alleged $4M SNAP fraud case
Atlanta rapper and social media personality Shawty Dred, whose real name is Mercedes Reshard New, has been indicted in an alleged $4 million SNAP fraud scheme. Prosecutors claim he used stolen identities to create more than 350 fake accounts and EBT cards to siphon taxpayer-funded food benefits. He faces 63 counts, including mail fraud and aggravated identity theft.
