Apple iPhone Duo Officially Costs More Than Used Cars in Pakistan

Apple has introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, for sale in Pakistan. The most expensive 2TB model is priced at nearly Rs. 15 lakh, which surpasses the cost of used cars in the country. This high price point makes the iPhone Duo one of Pakistan's most expensive smartphones.

The foldable phone's availability is limited due to low stock levels, but some sellers have listed the PTA-approved 2TB variant at Rs. 1,479,599, while the 256GB model starts at Rs. 999,599. Other sellers offer the device at even lower prices, but stock constraints are expected to drive prices up in the future.

Telemart, a prominent retailer, lists all four storage variants of the iPhone Duo at the following prices: 256GB for Rs. 999,599, 512GB for Rs. 1,079,599, 1TB for Rs. 1,239,599, and the 2TB variant at Rs. 1,479,599. All these variants are approved by the Pakistani Telecommunication Authority (PTA) with deliveries anticipated towards the end of November.

The price gap between the base 256GB and the top-end 2TB model is Rs. 480,000. However, retailers in Pakistan may raise their prices as stocks dwindle and replacement units become more costly. The iPhone Duo has garnered strong early demand globally, causing limited initial supplies to affect availability in several markets. Consequently, Pakistani buyers may witness additional price hikes if supply remains restricted in the coming weeks.
