Aggrieved NDC delegates invoke curses on party executives over alleged bloated register in Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency

Aggrieved delegates from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, situated in Ghana's Ashanti Region, have threatened curses upon party officials due to grievances concerning their names being omitted from the party's electoral register. Tensions are escalating in Twedie, the location of the NDC constituency elections.

These delegates claim that qualified individuals have had their names removed from the electoral register, and replaced with those deemed unsuitable, allegedly to bolster the chances of certain candidates in the upcoming elections. They have reported this issue to the party's regional executives, but say their complaints have not been satisfactorily addressed.

Consequently, the aggrieved delegates have turned to invoking the Antoa deity, requesting spiritual retribution against anyone responsible for the alleged manipulation. Speaking to journalists, one of the delegates, Gifty Kobbina, expressed her outrage at the situation, stressing that her allegiance to the party should not be undermined by what she perceives as an attempt at disenfranchisement.

"We have sacrificed our time and effort for this party, and we will not stand by while others cheat us out of our rightful place," she alleged. The delegates have threatened that if their concerns are not addressed, it could tarnish the integrity of the constituency elections and exacerbate rifts within the party.
